Drain Repair and Lining

Our specialist repair teams carry out all aspects of drain and sewer pipe repair and lining. We are committed to always finding the best, most cost effective solution for you.

In many cases we are able to line pipes rather than excavate and replace them. This helps us to keep costs and job timings down and is a preferable option for many of our clients. Where possible we will opt to line pipes because the process involves much less upheaval and inconvenience for our clients.

What is Drain Lining?

In some cases we may be able to avoid replacing large sections of pipework by lining them instead. We do this with a lining made from polyester and felt, lining the pipes to repair any minor cracks or compromised areas. This can greatly reduce time spent and costs incurred.

Patch Lining

This works on the same principle as drain lining, but provides greater flexibility to localise a repair to a small section of pipe. This can help to minimise cost and disruption as we can line a small section of pipework instead of having to dig up and replace the affected areas.

Brawloliner

This is an innovative and much more robust solution for severely damaged pipework where a standard polyester and felt lining cannot be used. Brawloliner is like a seamless elastic tube which is capable of lining around 90 degree bends in pipework and is ideally suited to more complex drainage systems that are under intense pressure.

Pitch fibre pipe repairs

We are specialists in pitch fibre pipe repair. Drainage pipes laid between the 1950s and 1970s are likely to be made of pitch fibre because at the time it was the cheapest material, as well as being lightweight and easy to handle. Pitch fibre pipes are made from wood cellulose impregnated with coal tar pitch. The problem is that these also contain varying amounts of asbestos, which was added to make the material stronger. Where the pipe is fully intact it poses no threat, but problems arise when a pipe is damaged. Because of the asbestos element, pitch fibre pipe repairs must only be carried out by experts who are able to deal with them safely.
We have extensive knowledge of the areas across the south east of England affected by pitch fibre pipes, and we have years of experience in repairing this type of pipe safely and effectively.
