Septic Tank Repair and Replacement

Unlike main sewer lines, septic tanks need regular maintenance to keep its components in good condition. Septic tank repairs and replacements are carried out by our team of experienced engineers on a regular basis across Sussex, Surrey and Kent. Over the past year, we have responded to a large rise in septic tank problems as the unpredictable British weather can often cause issues with domestic and commercial plumbing and drainage. Here is a quick guide to the services we provide.

Septic Tank Repair work

A septic tank is made up of four main parts: the waste pipe, the main septic tank, a drainage area and drain soil. Septic tanks are usually well equipped to handle large amounts of waste water flowing from a property. However, the system can be hit by a number of issues, including cracks and blockages. With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, our team can assess and treat the root cause based on basic information and an inspection. We can conduct free site visits to give advice on septic tanks, treatment plants, interceptors, road gullies and waste removal and provide ongoing maintenance work if needed.

Whether it is a repair on an existing sewage system running to or from the septic tank or if a new installation is required, Blockbusters Contracts Ltd have been established for over twenty 25 years and have qualified employees carrying out this type of work on a daily basis. All repairs and installations are carried out to the highest standard and we are fully insured up to £10million. We are Trading Standards approved and Which? Septic Tank Replacements

Although replacement work is less common than maintenance and repair work, a range of issues can be rectified by replacing components of the septic tank, for example the soak away system. Many replacements are carried out after drainfield failures as repair work usually cannot solve the problem. Adjustments can prolong the life of the septic tank and keep large scale problems at bay – which can cause contamination and health dangers.

Emptying Septic Tanks / Septic Tank cleaning

Repair work and replacements can only be carried out once a septic tank has been emptied. De-sludging or emptying a septic tank should be carried out every 12 months to two years, depending on the size of your tank and usage. If your septic tank has sustained a crack, groundwater can often flood the system which will fill the septic tank at a faster rate.

Free Site Visits and Inspections

Blockbusters offer customers a free assessment and inspection prior to any necessary work. We also provide a free report, quotation and a free mediation service to minimise insurance costs. If you do require extensive work to your septic tank, the costs could be covered on your property’s insurance policy. To qualify, you need to provide your insurance company with substantial supporting evidence. If handled correctly from the beginning, usually with the help of a specialist, the insurance policy should cover the costs of the work, excluding policy excess.
